A Day in the Life of an HVAC Technician: Winter Calls in North Georgia
07/12/2024Early Morning Preparations
My day at Air Comfort HVAC typically starts before sunrise. As I load up my service van with essential parts and tools, I can see my breath in the cold morning air – a reminder of why our services are so crucial during these bone-chilling winter months.
First Call – Emergency Furnace Repair
By 7:30 AM, I’m heading to my first call in Fort Oglethorpe. A family’s furnace stopped working overnight, and with temperatures hovering around freezing, it’s crucial to get their heating system back online quickly. These emergency calls remind me why preventative maintenance is so important.
Mid-Morning – Heater Installation
After resolving the emergency call, I drive to Ringgold for a scheduled heater installation. This is one of my favorite parts of the job – helping homeowners upgrade to more efficient systems that will keep them comfortable while reducing their energy bills.
Common Winter Issues We Address:
- Faulty ignition systems
- Malfunctioning thermostats
- Clogged filters
- Worn-out heat exchangers
- Blower motor problems
Afternoon Service Calls
The afternoon takes me through Rocky Face and Dalton for routine maintenance checks. These preventative services are vital in catching small issues before they become major problems. It’s satisfying knowing we’re helping customers avoid those dreaded middle-of-the-night emergency calls.
End of Day
As I finish my final service call and complete the day’s paperwork, I reflect on how rewarding it is to ensure our North Georgia communities stay warm and comfortable during the winter months. Tomorrow will bring new challenges and opportunities to serve our valued customers.
Remember, regular maintenance is key to avoiding heating emergencies. Don’t wait until your system fails – schedule your preventative check-up with Air Comfort HVAC today.
